A month and 16 days are going down the toilet tonight. I feel horrible, but it's been too long...
I'm a failure.
If VT has taught me anything in the past couple months, it's that self-harm affects others more than it affects you. Having this many people to talk to has made me realise this, and how I feel like a failure not only to my friends, my family, and my fiancé, but to the people who've helped me on VT too. It was all put to waste.

It was not a waste. You've hit a stumbling block. No more. One small slip up. You just gotta keep going forward. You went a month and a half, next time you can go three. You're strong. You can do it.

It was no waste, first of all, you were a month and 16 days without it!!!! that's really good, and yo slipped once, it's totally ok, no one is mad at you, and everyone understands.
-THE THING THAT MATTER is that you WON'T continue cutting, and you WON'T let yourself lose control, and continue like you didn't slip. You can do it, and you will never let this small mistake mislead you.

Thanks guys. It really means a lot.
What gets me though, is how it is a waste. I wasn't even upset, I did it for no reason other than my unbearable cravings. To double that time to three months SI-free sounds impossible.

Set small goals. You made it a month and 16. Aim for a month and 20. When you make that, aim for a month and 25. Like that.

A month and 16 days is a really long time! and it can be very hard to go without cutting for that long. It's okay to relapse, it is a common occurence. I remember how hard it was for me.
Like another user said, set goals, and continue building upon that until you no longer feel the need for cutting.
It takes time, but you can do it! :)

you're NOT a failure. you hear me? NOT!
first off, the month and a half you didn't is amazing. that is a big accomplishment. anyone who posts in this forum knows how hard it can be to get through even a few days, so don't think you have let anyone down--it's quite the contrary. so you've reached a setback; what's life without them? if you trip and fall, will you quit walking forever? i know i wouldn't.
it may seem difficult to make it longer than that, but just think of when you look back. how would it feel to say you didn't cut for a long amount of time, to say to yourself and those who care about you that you were able to make that progress? it's definitely something to work towards.
try rewarding yourself when you reach a milestone. set a goal, and try your hardest to see it through. if/when you do, let yourself buy that awesome shirt, or treat yourself to your favorite food.
i know it's tough, i speak from experience, just like others in this forum. but it isn't impossible. nobody is mad or upset, they all just want to see you happy and healthy. support is one thing VT isn't lacking. :D
if you need anything, you can message me.
