Lasers?

does anyone here have any high powered lasers? i swear i spend all my money on gas, lasers, insurance, and taxes...

i have a lot of lasers, i have a green 15mW, a green 50mW, a green 55mW, a green 125mW, a red 150mW, a orange 10mW, a yellow 2mW, and a bunch of cheap red pointers.

i can light matches, pop balloons, cut eletrical tape, burn pepole from across a classroom (always fun, dosnt burn, but a sharp pain, whats more fun than makeing a friend scream oh s#!t in the middle of class :yes: ) and light cigarettes! and more lol

you all probably think im a nerd :lol: i spend all of my mcdonalds money on lasers :)

yea that's just going a little over the edge in my opinion but hay...i spent about 2,000$ on my custom drum set build and its just one of the many things i love, you like lasers, i like music.

we both spend allot...its just one of those things i guess.

BTW, i like the laser in your sig. that lights the candles...i may get one now haha

yeah, there expensive, but fun. if there is one thing i have leaned in life so far, its that the best stuff costs alot :yes:

yeah i know, they are like potato chips. you cant have just one :D
all of them do diffrent things, and you kinda need diffrent ones for the diffrent things i do. my most expensive one was the 125mW green one, which cost 500, but if you look at the dot on a wall, it can blind you, so i had to buy goggles, but that one is used in the laser show things, as its most visible. there is only 1 cigarette of smoke in most of those pictures, then my second most expensive is the 55, which was 209 i think, then the 50, which was 200ish.. those wont blind you from looking at them on a wall, but will blind you instantly if you look right into it (duh) :lol: then the 3rd was the 150mW red one, which was 180, its stronger than the $500 green one, but it looks like 6 times dimmer, only because humans see diffrent colors diffrently, well acually the 2nd most expensive was the yellow one, its only 2mW, but how many of you have see a yellow laser? then the 2nd to last was the 15mW green, it cant do permanant eye damage, and i made the orange laser. i bought a diode on ebay, put it in a flashlight, and now its waterproof :D fun to go to swimmingpools with it, everyone is like WTH?!? it only cost me like 45 bucks to make that one, and it has a visible beam outside at night, well they all do, but the higher powered green ones can be seen during the day..

i havent realised it till now, ive spent like 1600 on lasers, no wonder my paycheck always disappears..

i need a blue one, those are the beastfully expensive 1k+ lasers :lol:

4 gigs of ram
2 7200 nvidia cards or was it 79? i think its 79, XT edition, they cost like 450 :eek:
1 terabyte of space (lotsa movies and music :) )
a amd 64 fx-57 oced to 3.2ghz :yes:
2 lightscribe dvd drives, you can take these apart and make a 200mW red laser :lol:
a floppy drive, old skool style :D
annd a creative soundblaster card
i think thats everything, well except for my 17 inch flatpanel monitor

its fast, cost a lot, and will be out of date in 2 weeks *sigh* ive been upgrading it since i first built it like a year ago, it started life as a compaq, the only original part is the monitor, and the card reader, which i use alot. i built a working computer for my dad with all the leftover stuff :D

that stivker is old, i bought a 3800+, but i didnt like it, so i got the fx

why laser is good just to sting someone from across the classroom i dont need them to fall down in pain just a little sting

i would get a 55mW, no laser will make them fall over in pain, they all acually hurt the same, but higher powered lasers take less time. go with a 55 if you really want to do that, but remember, the teacher will be able to see the beam all the way back to you :D

dont worry, your computer is a lot better than the laptop my dad had, get a job and start buying stuff :)

he still constantly calls me no matter where i am and asks stupid computer questons :)

believe me you will still have time, and you will have a lot more money to get a car, and go nice places...

you should build your own, it is so much cheaper (if you can rip off a copy of windows, get a key from the back of a computer at school like i did) and its a good learning experience. not to mention, mine has been going strong for over a year, and ive switched everything once or more times. as long as you are careful..
i love haveing a job, i dont know how i got by without one :)

im 16, 17 in january, and ive had 2 jobs :lol: go to a mcdonalds or pizza hut, or even burger king or wendys or a grocery store.. ask for a manager, and introduce yourself and ask for an application. fill it out and bring it back, tehn like 2 days later, go ask for that manager again and ask him if he needs to ask you any questions or anything like that. just keep goin back over and over and over. i work at pizza hut now, and i had to go back over a period of a month to get a job there. i got lucky at mcdonalds, i asked how old you needed to be, i was 15 then, and the only thing i could do was the register. but they gave me a job on the spot.

you have to be persistant, or youll never get anything. you gotta show them you want the job.

woops :p off topic. but anyways are there actually lasers that can burn things? i really want one to shoot it for fun at a frog thats been hanging out in my front porch, its really creepy its not afraid of humans and it comes here everyday

i dont think burning a frog is cool, he eats mosquitos and stuff. you could seriously screw it up though, like blind it and stuff. besides frogs are green, and it would just reflect all the green light. it would need to be a red or balck frog

Hehe, they look great. Had a look on eBay and you can get a 200mw green laser for £250, way less than on that website. Very tempted to get one.

the ones on ebay are a lot cheaper, the 200mW one on ebay will have IR light in with the green beam, and since ir is invisible, it will look like a 50mW green, but its acually 200. ir also reflects off of stuff that does not look opaque to pepole, which makes them a real saftey hazard, 200mW to the eye is not cool!!

i found a new site, they sell the same lasers but cheaper. i bought a new one, a green 95mW from this site and it works good, and im a mod on their forums :P

the site is www.dragonlasers.com they are a crapload cheaper, but its 100% legit.
come check out my laserforum too, you can get there by hitting forum in the top right of that dragonlasers site, dont want to get in trouble for posting other forums here :P
