algebra is so easy. unless it's Pre-calc. I'm struggling in that class. But Algebra....easy

Do I like it, no. Is it easy like Jess said, yes (to me atleast).

Yeah i agree with you concon it is pointless to take why take it if you dont use it. Its like dose it take algebra to flip a burger at buger king. Its stupid.

Algebra, though, is probably one of the most useful Mathematics I learned in high school. It might seem pointless, but I thought Geometry was even more pointless. And don't get me started on Chemistry.

algebra's purdy easy, until it gets to that other stuff after algebra O.o yeahhh. hahahaha. :)

I like it. I find it pretty easy, its either right or wrong (unlike damn English), and I'm good at it.

Algebra suck >< it's hard and totally unusful. i can't think about a situation when i'll need to actually use it except exams.

You use algebra in a lot of jobs. And in life. it's very useful and not pointless

I hate algebra with a fire-burning passion. :P It was so hard for me.
However...I love geometry. I'm very visual, so all of that spacial stuff was super easy. (:

Well... precalc isn't algebra?
Algebra sucked for me. mainly because my teacher didn't allow calculators and I make a lot of stupid aritmatic errors.

my teacher didn't allow calculators
Thats just plain stupid. How can you not allow calculators? You are going to have calculators for the rest of your life, why not learn with them. For Algebra 2 and up, we are required to have a TI-82, 83, or 84 graphing calulator.

I adore maths. Algebra holds a special place in my heart. I apply it every day to real world problems. <3 plus I'm great at it too xD

Oh, I should clafify that, she only allowed calculators for things that required graphing.
(ti 83 or 84 is our schools required)
But she wouldn't let us use one for arithmetic with 4+ digit numbers.
I rarely finished tests....
Then again she also tested us on consepts taht she didn't teach and then said "well that seperates As from Bs"... IT WASN'T IN THE FUCKING BOOK
At the end of the year she realized her average GPA for her algebra 2 classes was stupidly low and it was her fault, so she bumped all our grades up a letter grade.

For those of you that plan on going into higher level maths(and sciences): Just know that algebra never goes away. You will end up using it as a tool (just like add, multiplying, squaring etc...) to solve more complicated problems like in Calculus, trigonometry, physics etc...
So bottom line, its gonna get a lot harder so get it down now and latter on you'll realize its not that bad.

But it makes sense when used in physics dammit!
It doesn't make sense when there's no practical application applied in the teaching methods

lol true...but not all math classes are like that and also, pay attention to the word problems they're probably the best examples of practical uses for whatever you're learning

Learning algebra can be difficult, but once you master it, the higher and more difficult maths make so much more sense. It is very useful to know algebra. It's definitely worth the effort of learning.

I like algebra. Unless it's about the cartesian plane (which I loathe) I love doing a few problems or so. :P
It depends on you on how much you want to understand it. It's also recommendable; it's useful in college.

Lol Maths.
Applied Maths (Statistics) is just about the dumbest section of maths ever. The fact they combined applicable and statistics, like we REALLY would find the number of permutations a group of friends and I would sit in at the cinema. ppuh.

I have my Calc III midterm today. Algebra is nothing compared to 3 dimensional vector analysis. [/scaring all you non-math people shitless]

Well, you know that other systems and examinations do not allow calculators. Even in some higher education, use of calculator is strictly forbidden.

Ugh... I think I need the private tuition.

I have to agree with you on this. Leave the statistics for the statisticians.

I prefer algebra over geometry any day since I am good at algebra. Geometry not so much since my sixth grade math teacher sucked ass, and I didn't learn a single thing in that class, so my geometry roots are all fucked up, and I fuck up on geometry because I don't know what I'm supposed to know.

Geometry will completely change into something else when you move into higher classes. You will even have hybrids of algebra and geometry. Making it my favourite part in Mathematics.

Great point! My Algebra teacher NEVER helped us see the value of it!
BTW, I've come to enjoy the challenge of it.

The electrical union won't even let you into the apprenticeship program without a passing grade in algebra. Got a GED but didn't a passing grade in an algebra CLASS? Don't let the door hit ya on the way out. No such rule at Wendy's though.

Better get use to it if your going on to calculus.
