I have been cutting myself recently to make myself feel better. I cant seem to think straight anymore, and I am try to hide what I feel and think from my friends. I originally used drugs to hide my pain, now since I dont have that anymore, I cut myself. I release my pain, in a way one pain lessens another. I think I might need help. Any advice?

Well, it sounds that you are through a rough time... try to get some help, either by taking one friend that you trust most and tell him\her anything, or getting help by some professional. anyway if you want to talk i'll be here ^^

Like arches said, try talking to a friend you really trust, or talking to a professional. Talking to people about SH can be hard, but it can be worth it.

As the others have said really, talking about your problems really does help.
Just like drugs, cutting becomes an addiction, its best to stop it before it becomes a serious problem.
Have you got a friend who you can really turst that you could talk to about it, and obviously your more than welcome to talk to any of us on here if you need any help

if you ever need to talk i'm here for you hun.. i've been struggeling with self harm partiulary cuting for 6 years now... you can get help tho, you can get better. but that is up to you. it's called self harm for a reason, we can stop. :) there is hope. perhaps talking to a professional, getting rid of whatever you use, and finding different methods instead of running away from the pain can help. running doesn't solve anything in the end dear... nor will it fix anything... if your angry try exercising blaring metal, if your sad do something you like and call a friend so you dn't feel so alone, if you are numb or hallucinating or just feel like you need a wkae up call/ distraction dumping ice cold water on your head helps a heck of a lot. i hope this helps :) *huggles* stay strong!!!

I know it's going to be hard, but like the others have said, talking to others really is a good way of getting better. A friend that you trust the most. Tell them how you feel, and that you've been cutting yourself. Being honest with someone about your problems is the first step to recovery, but it's also the hardest.

Also, maybe talk to a professional, they know what they're doing and they're there to help you. And so is everyone else on this forum! You can talk to any of us anytime, we've all had similar experiences with self harm, and we're here because we want to help.

Well you need to get the issue of what's making you cut out in the open, and then deal with it. Whether you do that talking to your mates, your parents, or to a professional, talking is absolute key. If you keep it bottled up, it just gets worse, and worse, festers, and eats you up. PM me personally anytime.
