I am more into cutting myself, rather than burning.
Which means ive only had a few experiences with burning.
The first time I burned myself, it was just with a lighter thing, that is used on the grill, and matches.
Then I burned myself using the end of a fork, by warming up the tips.
I also have burned myself below my eye, with a hair straighter.
I burned the top of my hand on the stove burner, and it was a pretty big burn.
I also did it once more, just a little.
There may be other occasions I cant think of.

All these burns were done purposely.
And the really bad one I did, by burning myself on the burner, was actually about a 3rd degree burn.
And I didnt take care of it afterwards, I just left it alone, and after about a week, I thought it looked infected, so I went to the doctor.
Turns out, it was infected, and I ended up having a staph infection, from the burn.
I perfer to cut, but I also burn, just not as often. BAD ADDICTION.

Today I also just tried salt and ice burning...and I can already tell this is going to turn into an addiction on top of the others!

Help?!

Try and stop now, you only started today.
I've never actually tried salt or ice burning, but if you think its going to turn into an addiction, then it will.
If you want to talk, send me a message on my profile and once you get to 100 messages (It doesn't take that long actually) you can pm me. :)
Good luck. :hug3:

If I were you I'd stop while you're not already addicted. Burning can leave horrible, horrible scares, probably worse scares than cutting. If you're not already addicted, stop now, before you do get addicted. You know that self harm is an addiction because you've had experience from the cutting, so don't add burning to it as well. After a while you'll realise that it really is not a pretty sight to see first thing in the morning.

You've been to your doctor about your burn, so why not go about your self harm as well? I know that opening up is so hard, and it's the hardest part of getting help, but it really is worth it in the end.
A doctor help you through it themselves, or they'll refer you to a councellor or a psychiatrist to help you if they think it'll be better for you.

Also, you can PM me anytime if you need to talk, I'm always here and I know what you're going through. So does everyone else on this forum. This is a help site, and everyone here is willing to help you, and they want to help you. If you ask for it, you'll get help here, even if you just want someone to listen to.

Take care hun :hug3:

i burnt myself for the first time ever yesterday, and i think i'm going to stick to cutting, so i don't have yet another self-destructive addiction.
Of course everyone that replies to you is going to say, 'get help, talk to someone about it' and you should.

Talk to your therapist (or if you don't have one go to your doctor, tell them what's going on, and they can fix you up with a therapist.)

if you need anyone to talk to, i'm always here, but i'd suggest professional help.
best of luck to you! xxxxx
