For those of you who have read the novel by Ray Bradbury, do you think today's society is becoming more like Bradbury's predicted future in his novel Fahrenheit 451? Discuss.

Our society has been for a long time, and still is, a controlling, brainwashing society. Buy this, do that. This is cool, this is not, this is necessary, this is wrong.

Through recent events, a more literal comparison has sprung up again, book burnings. But keeping a culture sheltered and under control was never a new thing.

This. However, on a literal note, i doubt common society will ban books completely. Imagination is an important part of life, and books are a huge way of expressing ones imagination. Even though books are becoming less and less, as ebooks are becoming a big thing, people will always be reading and writing. Always.

Oh, btw. I hated this book.

It can never truly get that far I believe, I'm sure to a level it might happen, and thats a big might. We have to much check and balances and people willing to say no for it to happen.

Good read though.
