Am I crazy?

Basically there is a girl in my study hall class that I really like but she is a varsity cheerleader and pretty popular whereas I am a pretty shy and unpopular kid. I've always had high standards with girls and usually don't have that much of a problem with confidence but I can't get up the courage to start trying to develop a friendship.

Recently I've noticed that when I pass her at one point during the day, usually every day, that she kind of glances at me but looks away as soon as I look back. I don't know if she is looking at something behind me or what because she doesn't smile or anything so I'm just kind of confused. Also we are both Juniors.

So, my question is do I really have a chance with a cheerleader? And are these signs that she is interested too?

Eye contact is the main thing that tells you a girl likes you! I'd say just start talking to her build a friendship with her, get to know her personality, and let her get to know yours too. Then you can truly decide if you'd like to date her:) .

Well,
1) she knows you exist, and the fact that she looks at you indicates she is interested in something.
2) you both seem nervous and uncertain about each other. This a perfect time to break the ice between you two and have a simple conversation like "Hey, what's up?".
3) don't worry about popular/unpopular stuff, people are allowed to date whoever they want in retrospect.
4) if you are so confident, you should have no problem starting a conversation with her, an besides, girls like confident guys.

dude go for the gold! (a quote my brother always says :P) just go for it dude. if she says no.. then who cares! there are plenty of others out there who are willing to be ur girlfriend. i say just go for it and see what happens :)

I do not believe this one bit.

There are plenty of girls at school who look me in the eye when we speak, or just in class glancing around who definitely don't like me.

to be sadly blunt. She probably doesnt like you if your unpopular. they stay in there groups usually. Eye contact does not matter. And if you dont even attempt to talk to her, she might think you have cofedence issues if not already. And being shy is opposite of a cheerleader. Plus, dont just base it on looks. find someone that makes you feel good. Not just in your pants. Im sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear. but im not going to give you false hope or sugar coat it. Good luck man. :)
