In your opinion which is better?

Im thinking of buying a car. I have 3 choices, im going to pay half and split with my parents.

1. is a used Dodge Charger (2008) that has a little over 25K miles. (20,155 USD)

2. is a 2004 Ford Mustang 2 door with 35K miles (11,599 USD)

3. is a NEW Chevy Impala with leather seats, Satellite radio, and automatic transmission for 17,199 USD


Which one do you think is best for me?

I'd go with the Mustang or the Charger. In my opinion, Impalas are absolute shit boxes.

If you are going to be bringing any more than one person around, get the Charger. The Mustang would be OK, but if it has the V8, its gonna drink gas. The Charger R/Ts (V8) had cylinder deactivation, which shuts of 4 of the cylinders when not needed, increasing the MPG. If they both have V6s, and you aren't bringing too many people around, the Mustang is a good choice, though I'd still get the Charger. I just love them.

Yea im leaning toward the Charger as well. However the Mustang costs a lot less moolah. So im torn between looks and money ya know?

Yeah, tough decision. If you can afford it though, the Charger is a pretty good deal. Its 4 years newer, so it could be less prone to break downs (though Doge transmissions have a thing for failing around 80k miles), and it has less mileage, so it would feel less "driven", if you know what I mean.

as for power and economy combined, the charger would be best, but for overall value. economy, and insurance rates, the impala would be your best bet, because no matter how you get it insured, the rates for the charger AND the mustang are gonna be sky high, and combined with their worse gas mileage, your wallet is really gonna hurt.

But i really think the Impala looks like an "old person" car (according to my brother) but my parents have told me that they would rather have me get the Charger because its more reliable. However, the Mustang just "looks" great.

Yea, thats the problem, and those 3 are the only options i have. So its either looks,reliability,or age. So I'm being pressed to make a decision by Friday...

I'd say go for the charger i know its the most expensive but it will properly be the best and most reliable

Go with the Ford dude. As I've mentioned in other threads, Dodges are known to drop their transmissions at around 80k miles...
