My sister is one of those bass boomers, she used to have her subs in a Geo so it was actually funny.
It is annoying though, especially when you're at a stop light and you can't hear your own music over it.
Here in Oregon, if you can hear the music over 50 feet away, then the police can give you a citation.
Do they ever do it though? No.

But when MY music is up loud enough to be vibrating my mirrors, and I can hear (And not to mention FEEL) the bass coming out of their car, that's just ridiculous.
I'm all for letting people listen to their music, but not so loud that everyone within a 100 foot radius can hear it.

I have a sub in my car. I absolutely love the bass. I don't have it up loud in towns or anything though. For one I don't want to annoy people and also I don't want to advertise the fact that I have a sound system in my car worth nicking!
