Clinical vs. Clerical

Spotted eyes
See the world
In parallel lines.

Red horizon
Clicks to blue
And the channel changes
On the shattered, thirty-two inch
Plasma screen.

Neon lights
Burn through the corneas;
A dedication to medication
Leads to a standard cure.
A prayer at the altar
Purifies and ensures.

But what calibrates a cure?
A doctor and his placebo
Or a priest and his magic wand?

From spotted eyes it appears
The difference between a medic
And a minister reveals itself
Through magnanimous deception
In the form of red and blue
Skylines plastered above
By the so-called saviors
Of mankind.

The difference is
Red means blood
Outside the skin
While blue means
Blood within.
