View Full Version : suspend won't work (ubuntu 10.04)

so when i suspend my computer, it does that. but when i wake it...
- no graphics
- keyboard doesn't work

my computer...
- ati rage xl graphics
- intel canterwood chipset
- 2x intel gigabit ethernet
- 3 ghz pentium4
- 1 gb ddr400 ram
- 2x sata raid

i think its the graphics card
anyone else have this problem?

Try updating your chipset/motherboard & graphics drivers.
I know for a fact that ATI supports Linux, and thus provides drivers for it.
I have no clue about your other components.

It sounds like your graphics card, and part of the USB bus isn't getting or understanding the 'wake' message sent by the operating system (In your case Ubuntu). The most likely cause is Ubuntu not knowing what message to send or how to send it, due to mis-matched/wrong drivers.

My keyboard is not USB, it's actually PS/2, same with the mouse.

Then the PS/2 bus isn't getting the wake message.
Regardless, try to find updated drivers for your internal components.
