To be honest, I'm sick of Red Hot Chili Peppers, I cannot stand the lead singers voice and the riffs are just not strong enough for me.

Laugh at me all you want for this next song, but DOA has a pretty epic bass in my opinion. Though sometimes lies solely on at times, it's pretty good.

First of all, RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS ARE ONE OF THE BEST BANDS OF ALL TIME... but it's by no means due to their bassist it's theit guitarist that makes them awesome. The bass riffs aren't bad but there not anything special.
Joy Divsion, White Lies and The Cure all use bass in a lead guitar type capacity and therefore make there bass lines awesome and... I met and talked to for ages the bassist of Joy Division :D

The Cure are one of my favourites, and they have great bass. I would also say The Smiths, Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie and Bon Jovi have great bass in some of their songs.
