I have been working out a lot in recent month, mostly tae-bo and some weights.

The other day my bf and i were fighting around playfully and I feel like i could have won easily. I even hit hit his face with my foot playfully before he got up his arms.

Should speak with him about this? I'm just curious if he got the same impression but I don't want to embarrass him.

Haha this is a good question actually. It's one of those things that is a concern but you don't want to ask because it's sort of a de-masculizing question if thats the right word.
I'd say just dont mention anything and just dont try as hard when your play fighting just let him win I guess if your that concerned about it

Thanks for the feedback :)

Actually I did talk with him a few minutes ago. He didn't really tell me what he thinks tho. Just said that it was intimidating when I hit his face with my foot and asked if I could have done it harder if I wanted to.

And he wanted to play arm wrestling lol

He was probably playing, pretending, trying to be cute.

If not, I guess hes a weakling or you are extremely buff.

Lol I'm not that buff. I'm like 5"5 120. Didn't think of my bf as a weakling either, although he is kinda skinny I guess. 5"8 115.

He was probably just playing around then. When the girl I like hits me and stuff it doesn't really hurt at all but I always pretend it hurts like hell to make her laugh. =)

You are probably right. I'll find out when he comes over in a bit.

I told him I do the armwrestling he wants to do but that we nned to make bet so he won't just let me win. Lol

115 pounds at 5'8" is fairly light, so it's far from inconceivable that he's quite weak. It's not normal for a guy to be weaker than a girl, generally, but it can certainly happen. Your relative bodyweights definitely make it possible here.

well we did the arm wrestling and I won. Now I'm kinda disappointed.

I mean it's not a big deal. Just kinda weird that I'm stronger than my bf.

I think that is so sexist.. So you think that because a she is a girl that she should be weaker than men?

And I thought we(meaning people) came out of this nonsense long ago.

Why would you bring it up with him?

Would you have a problem with being more physically apt at defending yourself than your boyfriend? If so, than you need to reassess what's important in a relationship.

Coming from a martial arts background, I know the importance of never underestimating a person's abilities - to this day, a good female teacher of mine is smaller and weaker than me but her skills are far superior and she could easily disown me. This is pretty hard to admit for guys because they feel the need to fit the stereotypical male archetype as being the 'protector.'

If he can't deal with that, than it's his loss.

I totally agree. I really don't think it is a big deal. Was just surprised that's all.

Of course now I will always get my way.:p

Lol

Well come on now, stronger or weaker, it's never okay to take advantage of people.

Hey, I was just kidding. Of course I won't do something like that.

But maybe I play it up a little at first. Just to have fun. We spoke and I'm sure he'll be cool with it.
