Therefore, we shall celebrate his legacy.
John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band is an amazing album; it bleeds emotion and, while the songs are musically simple, their lyrics are complex. Working Class Hero = win.
What do you guys think of solo Lennon? What about Yoko?

Never really looked into his solo work - I watched a documentary on his life on BBC a few months ago - pretty awesome guy.

Tonight I will watch the Xfactor just to see how far musical standards have dropped in Britain, in the last 40years.
RIP John- Your a legend

Decided to buy the reissued albums box set along with "Power to the People". That and I'm wearing my 'Revolution' black t-shirt. People are literally giving me high fives.

That's what happens every time I wear a Pink Floyd T-shirt.
It never happens when I'm wearing a lennon shirt, though.

Every time I wear a Pink Floyd shirt, people just look at me like I'm a druggy. Get the occasional high five from the 55 year old fan.

Well everyone at my school loves Floyd, so whenever I wear it by the end of the day at least 10 people will have commented on it.

You mean, everyone at your school loves "Dark Side Of The Moon" and "The Wall" along with a couple other hits they had on the radio.

Yeah, probably, but it's better than not knowing them at all.

IMO it's better that they just not listen to Pink Floyd if they can only listen to the popular albums.

Never really listened to his music or learned about his life, so it really doesn't interest me.
However, I know he was shot and killed the day before my birthday, which I find interesting. I may look in to him in the near future.

I know the threads old and his birthday has passed, but it doesn't mean we still can't talk bout him.
I think that he was a great musician. It's a shame he was murdered, but everything happens for a reason. RIP John.
Now about Yoko? I honestly don't like her. Don't want to start a big ass discussion of why, but yeah.

Eh, people say they don't like Yoko, and they have good reasons, but we have to remember she was a huge part of John's life and the driving force behind a lot of his solo career. Many of the great songs that came out of Lennon in the 70s wouldn't exist without Yoko's input.
