Can someone explain this to me. I don't quite understand why I ALWAYS see the guy asking out the girl , why do I always see this and not the other way around? This question has been bugging me for as long as I can remember.

Historical gender roles and double standards.

Or.. guys are hornier than girls or have less control, so they have more motivation?

That's a hyperbolic stereotype. Women are a lot hornier than you would be led to believe.

Well lots of my friends get asked out by girls, and vice versa.

mainly steriostypes... I know a few girls who've asked out guys, it's just not as many girls do as guys do.

chivalry is why. same reason guys hold doors, untuck chairs, etc. it's all nothing new, but gender roles are changing and will continue to.

That's no better than saying "because cleaning and cooking are a woman's job and that's the way it is no matter what."

I know some girls ask guys out, but I have never seen this myself personally. Its definatly still mostly the boys who ask the girls out, which I think is a bit ridiculous.

Its wrong to expect women to do all the cooking and cleaning, so why is it still expected in most cases for the guy to do all the asking out?

And it certainly isnt the case that guys do all the asking out because they are hornier than girls. Thats a stupid thing to say. Obviously a lot of guys tend to be hornier than girls, but that certainly doesn't mean to say that ALL guys are horny, immature and desperate for sex.

I hope things change in the future, where more girls ask guys out. Girls shouldn't expect boys to make the first move.

I don't really know, in my school it nearly is 100% the boys asking the girls. No idea why, I think girls just think the boys should do it, even though it's scary.
