do anyone here still go on field trips...like go visit places or whatever?
I stopped doing that when I started high school. I'm not missing class for some stupid field trip. I refuse to go to any trip.

Nah, I don't have field trips anymore now that I am in High School. The only field trips I go on are related to band, and those are fun!

Not really. And I don't understand how you'd rather me in class doing repetition instead of actually getting to do things that advance your learning in much more fun ways.

Nope, I haven't been on one since the 8th grade, and I'm a senior now. /:

I go on "field trips" for debate, we go to these long-ass 9 hour tournaments. They're a hell of a lot of fun, though, and they're interesting too.

I don't want to miss any classes. there's a trip coming up for my accounting class where we go to Duquene, but I am missing ALL my classes. and I HATE missing classes

So do I, but you get to not sit in a chair for a long time and not do work, unless you do accounting on your accounting field trip. :P

I haven't had a real field trip since 8th grade, I'm a junior now. We went to see some lady talk about harassment or something a while ago, and it was excruciatingly boring.

I'll pass this year. It's gonna be another swimming party, in which we won't join (me and my friend, who will be playing with me for a day). They call it educational, are we studying the chemical composition of water in the pool? Noooo.

I know, I would love to go if I didn't hate missing class. *sigh*

It's just make up work. No big deal. And it's not like you can't ask your teachers for help before or after school. Have fun in your life; don't just be some mindless work drone.

I took one to Body Worlds (franklin institute) last year.
Since the entire honors biology section was going, I didn't miss a lot of class because a good 1/2 my graduating class went :P

I went to some Tech college a couple weeks ago. I went to some musical/play thing last year. My school doesn't have a lot of field trips. Some for certain classes or something that'll help us decide our future.

I normally have one each year. Since I'm in an art program, we just go to museums and crap. And the art kids are about 1/2 of the school, so not much happens in class while we're gone. This year's was to the Brooklyn Museum.

I haven't been on one since I was in year 8, and I'm in year 11 now. Since I started my GCSE's, the school just stopped doing them. Unless you took geography or history, they get LOADS!
But I didn't, so I'm stuck in the class room learning german, RE and critical thinking while the history and georgraphy people go all over the place. Fun times for me.

Yeah, you're right, well sometimes there might be an important lesson or whatever...I still won't go though :P

Don't be such a prude. Have fun. Who cares if it's important. You still can learn it.

Last year I went on three trips, I think. One to see a play, another to visit a college, and a third to Six Flags, however, we didn't have school on the Six Flags trip so I guess it doesn't really count. I also attend a few leadership conferences throughout the year, with other Student Council members, but some are on my own.
I hate hate hate missing classes (I've gone to school literally having to leave every class to puke to avoid missing school) because I hate making up work, but I'll live with it for field trips because when trips do happen, it means that it is more than just me leaving the class and teacher's aren't as harsh.

we had 2 this year just gone. had to go into the city with my society & culture class for a conference thing to help with our major project for yr12. we also went to canberra over 3 days in mid september but it was after our exams and nobody missed out on any class work. some class work was missed on the first mentioned trip.

Well I'm actually going to Washington D.C. for a field trip for a few weeks. And the French class goes to Quebec.
The thing I don't like is that everybody's treated like they're 3 years old. -_-

Yeah when i got in high school it seemed if field trips all a sudden stoped. If we do go i dont mind going because we dont have to seat in classes all day haveing to do school work all the time. Which isnt fun in a way.
