"Check If Already Posted"

It's a mod that makes a little box next the the thread title box on the post new thread page that you click to see if this topic has already been posted. I've seen this elsewhere and thought it might be interesting to see used in p101 here :P

i think that would help. However if let's say i'll give an example. I posted on hallucination.. and Debby4125 posted on hallucinations and mine were different from hers, then i would have to repost... because it could be an old thread, and you can't bump old threads xp. I don't know if i explained what I was saying well..

this sounds useful but aren't similar threads allowed when the other thread is like really old? :S

Well, I can see where you're coming from, but how would it search? Like the others have pointed out, you can post with the same subject, but in different contexts. Especially in the psych ward. People post about depression and self harm all the time. Some have very similar topics in their threads, but does that mean they're not allowed to post and get support because someone else already has for a very similar topic? No, it shouldn't.

It would just get too complicated. People trying to post something that's been posted before, but kind of different (if that makes any sense), is acceptable. In TWPR, birthday's and congrats are the same, just with different people. What then? I just think it would get complicated, and it would make the site look very unwelcoming with something at the side saying "something similar has been posted here, please don't post" or something of the sort.

It doesnt stop you from posting, hell, some people are so focussed on getting an answer that they dont even click it. But meh, i didnt think it through. May or may not be added or even useful here. Was just a suggestion anyways :)
