I think people should have at least 1 rep point so they can give both good and bad rep to people

Because you only want that 1 rep power to give someone bad rep, that would be considered abuse of the system, therefore it's not going to happen. If you had a better reason, it might have been :P

If someone gave me bad rep, I wouldn't neg rep them back. One it's abuse to the system, and two it doesn't solve anything, if you have/had a problem with the rep you were given and you think it's unjust then contact an admin. If they think it stands, I don't see why you'd need to neg rep them back if you deserved it. Remember, it's just rep, doesn't actually mean anything other then it looks good :P

Without putting too fine a point on it, this is a great demonstration of why you have 0 rep power, and why we won't be changing that any time soon.

Rep is a privilege. One of the things you have to show to be worthy of it is that you can contribute and participate meaningfully in the community. If you can do that regularly, you will end up with positive rep. Otherwise, your opinion won't count when it comes to repping.

In any case, the solution is simple: post well, you'll eventually get rep from it.

Cengiz, your -67 points may seem a lot to get back but remember there are plenty of us that could wipe that out and get you back into the green with just one +rep, so its not a situation that you cant recover from.

Tit-for-tat rep is pretty silly whether its +ve or -ve, and by the way, you would need at least +2 rep power before you could affect anyone else with -rep.
