Well I didn't come out on October 11th nor does my father need to know, but for those people that do come out. I really wish them the best and that they have a very successful coming out story to share. As this is a sensitive story and everyone should be accepted no matter what.

I do, because of the middle of this year, I've started with a clean slate thanks my entering college. I'm open about who I am and still come out rather frequently (three times this week). And yeah, trust me, I have given it a ton of thought. I'm nervous, but really, it just has to be done. I'm tired of hiding. I am sure their reactions will be intense, but I can handle it.

Just saw this thread and it's given me the motivation (a definitive date to stick to) for coming out to my parents. Huzzah!

P.S. For those of us in the UK, our national day is actually October TWELTH (so says Wikipedia - and frankly a Tuesday works better for me). :lol:

Has anyone ever come out on Facebook?

I don't really have the ability to come out to people in person, since I don't even live near most of my friends, and the ones who I do live near already know. I just want to know if anyone has gone about it like that, and how it ended up?

October 11th came up fast :P I remember planning that I'd come out that day, about five months ago. And here it is. I almost forgot about it. I'll do the US day just to make it sooner anyway. It still counts.

i was about to do it to someone today, but for a wierd reason. he's my new friend since i moved and i got mad at him for making fun of my accent, then i decided i was gonna tell him im gay. but yea october 11th, i feeling pride so i'll come out to some people

If any organization kicked me out for my sexual orientation (or perceived sexual orientation), I would tell them to go fuck themselves with a rake.
