I don't think someone should be allowed with the nickname Nazi, it is offensive.

I don't see how. It's hardly as if he is actually a Nazi.

we have someone called deadpie, that might be offensive to pies.
really its just a word, when he starts targeting the jewish community on the forum then we shall get him
but before then is it really a big deal?

If we started banning people because their user names offended one or two people we wouldn't have many members here.

I don't think there is anything wrong. As Calum said; unless the member breaks the rules then action will be taken. We have people with different user names like look at mine for instance, it's a movie character. Everyone has their own name of creating things. So until there is a reason to punish, there will be nothing done.

I don't see a problem. Like the others said, if he breaks any rules, or if he starts targetting and descriminating against the Jewish community, then fine. But we can't ban someone because they're username could offend some people.

that's like saying nobody can have Jesus, or God, or whatever... as everyones said.. unless there's a rule break, nothing will be done.

Have respect to people's thoughts

I disagree. I think we should allow the username Nazi, just like we should allow the username Stalin, just like we should allow Crusader, Pol Pot, Young Turk, etc. etc.

Words are just words. If Nazi is otherwise racist, discriminatory or causes problems here, that will be grounds for punishment. Until then, lighten up and get over it.

"Young Turk"
Young Turks was a political group in 1800s Ottoman Empire, what is wrong with it ?

Forgot to add soemthing: yes, unless this Nazi guy starts " Hey does anyone thinks Jews are douchebags ? " there is nothing wrong

Not going to get into the full discussion here, but as with every other group mentioned in that sentence the Young Turks (as a political group) hold primary responsibility for a genocide.

Ahh yes, that so called genocide you people are talking about ...
Anyway, back to topic. There is nothing wrong with Nazi, as there is nothing wrong with Young Turks or "deadpie" :D

Nazi- A member of the National Socialist German Workers' Party, founded in Germany in 1919 and brought to power in 1933 under Adolf Hitler.

is the word 'communist' also offensive? Or 'democrat' or 'republican'. A few of these may or may not be frowned apun by some politically (or illegal, hehe). Offensive though? I wouldnt think so.

In a way I agree...
however, like the others said, if the guy begins to be hateful then action would be taken, most likely, just with any other situation where a member is being hateful towards someone or a group of people, etc.

Just replace 'freedom of press' with 'freedom of speech' and I rest my case. The word 'nazi' on its own is not offensive unless used as an insult.

Its a word - doesn't reflect the persons opinions, if it did and it broke the rules they would be banned.

I'm on the fence about it. I know that it really does have a pretty bad history with it but if they aren't doing anything racist or to verbally attack anyone then they aren't causing a problem.

Its hardly racist. The word itself is short for National Socialist German Workers' Party. Thats all it means. Its hardly like the guy is called "Evil Jew" Or "Jews Suck" ( I Dont mean this btw, just an example ) Its just a nickname.
