I feel like I'm too far off the path to give any advice, I interpreted shots to mean something completely different... Anyway...

I can't believe someone your age is saying they want to get away from life and whatnot, you're 13! At your age you should really just be discovering the world, not trying to escape from it.

Yes you should enjoy life, find activities to help you do just that! No need to use drugs, there are endless activities. Play sports, play video games, play board games, play card games, play make believe games, play tag, play hide n seek... Be a kid and just be creative. Personally my favorites were don't touch the ground tag at a park or regular tag at this big park with nets and stuff, flipping over the nets and doing crazy crap. Ever gone rock or tree climbing? Idk if you're athletic or not, but really all you need to do is stay busy and there are definitely tons of things you can do.

I don't think drinking a beer with your uncle every once in a while is a big deal, it could be a good bonding moment or w/e. I would however avoid drinking with friends, especially liquor, unless at a wedding or something. Try to keep the drinking to a minimum for at least a couple more years though...

I've used alcohol a lot of times to try and escape from the world and you can't always tell which way your gonna go. One minute you can be totally happy, next minute you can feel worse than you did before. It's a good job you haven't drank since except for that beer and as Taylor said, I don't think one beer once in a while is a bad thing. Try to keep it that way. Drinking in large amounts can do serious damage to your liver so it's best not to start too early. Vm/pm me if you want to talk :)

Not a big deal at all. I hope that 11 shots wasn't your first time but if it was then it's good that you've calmed down. It can do serious damage to your liver to shock it like that (alcohol poisoning anyone?) but drinking once in a while isn't a bad thing. I think at 13 it's not the smartest choice depending on where you are on the development scale, but to each his own.

I really don't like it when people freak out about something they chose to do. You have complete control over yourself, so I don't understand why you think it's turning into a problem. I use alcohol and other fun things to get away from life, but I do it at appropriate times and in appropriate places. Then again, my life is probably a bit more stressful than a 13 year old's (of course I don't know you, so don't let me go uncorrected if i'm wrong). As long as you do it for fun and it doesn't turn into a need-based thing, then you're fine. Just have fun and do it in appropriate places.

Alcohol can become an addiction, meaning that people sometimes do not have total control over themselves and many would choose to break away from their addiction if they could.
Asking for help even about something that is not, but could become a problem, is much healthier than letting it develop.

Here's some advice.

You've got a problem IN THE MAKING.

You're only 13 and trying to act like an Adult; a STUPID Adult, I might add.

I'm speaking from experience. My Uncle is an Alcoholic; In and out of treatment centers CONSTANTLY. About the time he gets on his feet...He's back in the gutter!
Is that where you want to end up...BEFORE you're even an Adult?

My Father has helped him...until he's TIRED of helping him.

A person at a treatment center told my Dad that Alcohol AND Tobacco - WERE THE WORST addictions of all; Over and above Heroin, Crack, Meth..anything. Why? Their frequency of use. An "H" addict only gets off once or twice a day, but an alcoholic and a smoker - engage in the behavior - ALL DAY LONG -- because it's Legal - and it's so readily available. FREQUENCY OF USE!

Will you let "frequency of use" send you to an early grave?

Whatever your reason for drinking is....Here's a thought: Quit feeling sorry for yourself, and do something more productive with your life.

I agree that alcohol addiction is definitely one of the worst, but I wouldn't say it is the worst overall. A lot of heroin addicts just scrape together enough money to keep them out of the more serious withdrawals, but that is usually after ruining their lives and blowing away all their funds. Heroin addicts usually end up a lot worse than an alcoholic because of how people view it, legality, and probably most importantly, the cost.

Meth addicts don't really deal with the same physical withdrawal issue, but meth probably does the most damage to your body and it's got a high that is hard to not care for. Especially for meth users that IV, their bodies become ruined.

Crack/coke addiction imo isn't really that bad because it's got such a short duration for it's price, it's just kind of an unrealistic addiction for most. I definitely see the appeal in the drug, but it's just not an addiction most people can keep up for very long.

All addictions are terrible/unique and can't really be compared, but IV/IM meth/heroin addicts are the worst in my eyes... Alcoholics don't really have the same fucked up stories or anything :-\ Alcohol/tobacco addictions might be the hardest to stop just because they're cheap and legal, but I wouldn't say they're the worst addictions to have.
