Ok so one or two of my buddies have jailbroken their ipods already and i want to jailbrek mine now. Thing is i have version 4.0.2 so i havent found a place where i can jailbreka it without going thorugh a bunch of techy crap that i dont understand.

So my question is, is there any way to easily jailbreak my ipod or do i just have to wait until the new version comes out?

Thanks! :D

jailbreakme.com

All you have to do is go there on your iPod, and follow the instructions.

If you aren't in to the 'techy' stuff, don't bother with it. Doesn't do much unless you want to sit there and figure out all the packages and stuff. And it just slows down your iPod.

Jailbreaking is using of a program (Redsnow, etc) to unlock and get into the root files of an iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad and the new Apple TV (anything that runs iOS) which lets your to install themes, new icons, applications that apple wont let in their app store and many other things onto your iDevices.

Most Jailbroken iDevices use "Cydia" which is the Jailbroken version of the iTunes store, that shows you all the apps/other stuff you can download and install onto your iDevices.

Things you can do:

Themes:- Change the dock, icons, lockscreen, background.

Apps:- THERE ARE MANYYYYYYYY different apps, that do a range of things.

And many other reasons.

ALSO something I'd like to point out...

Is Jailbreaking is legal. BUT apple frowns upon it. And they wont fix, repair etc a iDevice if it is jailbroken. So Restore you device before you send or take it in for anything.

Look what happens with xboxes. You mess with them, you can't use them online. Companies don't like you doing this, so don't be surprised if the whole thing stops working. Bit like fitting a nitrous kit to your brand new car. When you've over cooked it and blown up the engine, they ain't exactly going to give you a new one.

Cause Microsoft made it that way, same with a Wii, dont know about PS3.

Duh they dont like it, cause its not their way. They do this to just make more money, they should have a slap for it. And most times, like with computers, phones, just about everything tech, its the Users fault, so yes it will mess up.

You've as in them, so they did it. :P Their fault.
