Hi, I was wondering if I could get some advice?
I haven't started my periods yet, and I'm not too bothered. But as I'm 14 I decided I'd better start preparing for when they come.
I do a lot of dance (where we wear leotards), so I think it'll work best if I use tampons instead of pads. The thing is, when my Mum has her period, she buys the cheapest and worst quality pads going. I have absolutely no idea why (they're 16p for 10!), but I get the feeling that she won't want to spend money on tampons for me. What should I do? Should I ask her if she would? Also, the fact of telling her I want to use tampons scares me a little. What if she says no?
I'm also kind of worried about actually telling her when I start. What's the best way to do it? Should I just come right out and say it?
And one more thing...
What happens if you don't have time to change your pad/tampon whilst you're at school? I have a TRIPLE lesson on a Wednesday (I know, actual p*** take) and I'm worried about if I have to change in that. At my school we're not allowed to the loo in lessons.
Thnaks if you can help xx

It shouldn't be too awkward to tell your mum that you've started your period and yes you should just come out and say it.
You should try asking your mum about the tampons, explain to her how you feel about it and especially about wearing leotards...
If she says no then at least you tried? If she says no then you will just have to wear pads but there is no harm in asking.
As for changing your pad or tampon at school, they only need to be changed every 4-6 hours so a triple lesson shouldn't effect this, just change it at break or lunch or something. Hope i helped :)

also if you need to change it during a class say you dont feel well and ask to go to the nurse and change it there that usually works when you cant ask to the ladies room

Yeah just tell your mom. Im sure she would understand because what you think is best for you and for the things that you do. If you explain to her that the cheap ones wont work for when you dance and stuff and tampons would be better then tell her. Im sure she will understand :)

im always worried im going to bleed through if my tampon fills up. in situations like that i use both at the same time.
So if you do bleed through with a tampon the pad catches it. :) lol.

If she won't buy you tampoons.. then ask her if you can atleast get tampoons that you can use while dancing..
