-I do text sigs. Woo.
-You may have one or two pictures in the sig, preferably a render (transparent background). Only if I really love you will I render something for you. If you describe what you'd like, then I can find an appropriate picture that will work under VT's sig file size restrictions.
-Few specifics: lots of artistic choices, many specifics: a look to your particular tastes :)
-You are always free to ask if you want me to change something on your sig. I understand that some choices I make might not be your cup of tea, or I just fucked up your request or something. That's completely fine. Give me a couple of pointers on what I can improve to cater to your liking. After two weeks however, I delete the .psd files, meaning a lot of things might not be editable for me any more. I can try to remake your sig, but in this case the people who haven't gotten sigs yet are prioritized. So if you wish to have any changes made, make sure you ask relatively soon after I have completed it.
-It'll never take more than a week (only if I'm really busy), usually more like two days if not the same day, depending on my schedule. However, if time matters to you, try requesting on a Friday or Saturday instead of a Monday or something. Earlier in the morning, the better. However, I'll NEVER take more than a week unless I'm unable to get to my computer/without Internet.

I love making things, so if you fill this form out:

Colour scheme:
Text/lyrics: (Include if you want your username instead of/as well as other text)
Font: (description or you can choose a specific one from a site like www.dafont.com (http://www.dafont.com). I'd recommend you at least give me an adjective or two, because I have a lot of big girly fonts. Because I'm of the female gender. I'll give you swirls, curls, and cursive if you don't say otherwise ^_^)
Anything else?

I had to play with this one a bit because of the VT colours. I also had an two more ideas, to make the words in the background black, and then keep "Broken Inside" white, or to make it a blue to purple gradient. I can try these also, but I didn't make them up yet cos I don't know what VT layout you use and how it would look on other layouts.

Let me know what you think and I can change whatever you'd like to :)

@Fact: I have some ideas to replicate a grungy sort of look. I'm not a master at photoshop really, as I only do text siggies. But I can break out GIMP and do a text siggy with a background versus my usual transparent ones if you'd like. Or I can add a brush with the text and have it still transparent. Whatever sounds good to you :)

My only criticisms would be...
More extravagant brushes and make all the text slightly bigger text? Only slightly though.
Also, maybe rather than "it's" in the small text, change to "it is" so that's more clear :D

Did you save it on your computer then upload it as your sig pic? If that's the case, save it as a .png instead of a .gif. .gif doesn't handle transparency. If worst comes to worst, right click on the original I posted, go to properties, and copy-paste that url instead.

If the problem is that you can't put that image in your signature without it having a white/black background is because you need to save it (or VT does) as a .jpg, because .png are usually bigger files just for their superior quality.

Photoshop doesn't seem to let me save in .jpg while preserving the transparency. There might be an option that I haven't noticed, but .png is the only format that it gives a transparency option in. *shrug* Otherwise the background goes blank.

It's a bit of a nuissance in more elaborate files like Fact's siggy, but I've just been doing whatever to reduce the file size below 50kb and that has been working.

I'll get started on yours, Tootsie, in the morning :)

I attached yours because uploading it to phobucket adds 3kb and that would put it over the limit for siggies on VT :/ If you open the attachment, save it on your computer, and use it as a siggy from there, it should work. Tell me if it ends up being compressed anyway (not transparent anymore).

I don't know about getting them to fade out, but this is what I came up with :) If you want anything changed, just say so.

To fade out you can use a soft brushed eraser or a feathered selection.
It all depends on the program you're using.

Such as using a 64px 50%op soft brush in Photoshop:

I use a mixture of Photoshop and GIMP depending. Mercury's I used both on because I like certain tools of GIMP's a bit more.

I guess either you could use it without the transparency, going ahead and using it for a sig would just have it be a white background. Or I take the Gaga pictures out and use just words.

I tried my best to get the heart to look as good as possible. I did take out the brushing around it because making the image transparent would be quite a task with the brushing around it, I hope you don't mind. In the end, it's a bit iffy, but the heart was a bit low in quality to begin with. See what you think and if you're as picky as I am, we could possibly pick a different heart that is a bit sharper maybe?
