well i just got a new anti-virus thing, and its very nice, i have 85 viruses i got rid of 50 but heres the problem. the other ones apparently infected files that i have no idea wat they do, they're in the /windows/ files, only way i can get rid of the virus is by deleting the file, is it ok to delete those files?

2nd problem, like every 5 mins i get a popup, and its not really a popup its just a page that pops up, its not even a real page, its just this thing called
Microsoft Internet Explorer, or about: blank, or ...____________
anyway they keep coming up and my popup blocker doesn't do anything about it, and its very annoying they come in groups and many of them have viruses so my question is, what are they, how do i get rid of them, and what do they want from me (lol)

hmm i got zonealarm suite, teh one where you have to pay for $70. it has all features a freeware cannot. have you ever tried to use system restore? though it will delete somethings that were recently installed. but if you don't care that everything on your computer is deleted like going nearly back to day one, i can tell you that.
don't let those viruses get to you! they only want one thing, to take control of your computer and destroy it!theres a really good freeware my computer teacher suggest, McAffee is a good anti virus. you may also have a lot of spyware too.

I use both Norton Antivirus and Zonealarm, they're pretty good at blocking, but once the spyware gets in, they're not so good. I usually use a program called ad-aware to delete viruses.

I have AntiVir Guard, I think it's free, and it's the best I've used yet... I have NEVER gotten a virus since I have it, and when I go to websites that may contain viruses, a little window appears telling me if I wanna block it, let it in, delet it, and stuff... I really like it.
And the popus, they are Spyware... some programs contain them to advertise other things... thats why you have to carefully read everything that you download and install in your computer... there's a program I use called Spyware Doctor, and again, its the best one I've used by date... again, I've never gotten a spyware since I've used this

What are the names of the files? Sometimes viruses lodge themselves inthat folder but they arent system files. If thats the case then its ok to delete them. Your popups are caused by spyware. Download Spybot S&D and Adaware and that should fix your problem.

Spybot: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022-10122137.html?part=dl-spybot&subj=dl&
Adaware: http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=lst-0-1
