I just watched a youtube video and it really got me thinking. The question is this:
How come when a guy sleeps with women, he's considered the "stud" if you will, but when women do it they get called sluts? I know it might not be true in every single situation, but what's your opinion?

It's simple: historically, men have been considered the more... "responsible" gender, because they (used to) do all the work and bring in all the money. Therefore, they were granted certain privileges that women didn't get. That carries on today.

It is also I think from an evolutionary perspective advantageous because a man who is sleeps around is more likely to pass on his genes. A woman is less likely to be promiscuous because from an evolutionary perspective she needs a mate with good genes that will be able to provide for her and if she is promiscuous she cannot be certain who the father is.

Because when a woman has sex she takes the risk of getting pregnant and getting stuck with a kid. Having sex with a random guy you just met isn't responsible, and more will come out of it for women than for men. And because guys are weird. ;)

*sigh* If a girl sleeps with one guy she isn't a slut, if she sleeps with a bunch of guys she is considered a slut. If a guy sleeps with a bunch of girls hes a stud. Thats how it is, if a girl sleeps with one guy, and she isn't a girl who sleeps around then it doesn't matter.

Because our society is f*cked in the head. In my opinion, the guy is just as bad as the so called slut.

I disagree with all of you.

I think its just because of the widely accepted notion that men are the predators and women are the prey.

i think that its because back when a child was lucky to make it to the age of 10 there werent as many children so it was seen as the mans duty to impregnate as many women as possible so that he could keep the human race alive but a woman could only get pregnant about once every 2 years (to be safe) so if she sleept with every guy in town she can only get pregnant once so she was considered to be doing it for the pleasure of sex and thus a slut
