I have social anxiety disorder, and that has a lot to do with my eating disorder. When I go out to eat, perhaps at school, or with a friend. I am constantly worried.. "oh no, if someone sees me eat, they will think i'm fat, because i'm eating." I will look at their plate and then at mine, I will eat slower at ther pace, and amke sure i eat less... giving off the "i'm not hungry vibe" even though i'm famished because it'll be probably my first meal of that day. i also watch what i'm eating. It'll have to be something with no calories... I am always counting calories. I have to eat under 700 calories to be content with myself. Lately I've been trying to change this, and it's getting better. People at school or if I'm with friends they will make fun of me when i do eat, which doens't help. "Oh look!! Songuls eating today!! Good job Songul, i know they are only trying to help and show that they are happy that I am eating.. but it makes it worse... it does the opposite. It makes me not want to eat. It's really hard becaue i don't want to eat, but my body's hungry. It's just very conflicting when your body is like give me food now, and your mind is like.... don't you dare put that food or drink in your mouth... what are you doing?!?! I know how much it's not good to not eat. and i'm really trying to recover..

Here are some tips taht have helped me with social anxiety meeting my eating disorder. When you are thinking... oh gosh.. people will think i'm fat if they see me eat. try looking around you. Chances are everyone is eating.. Now think aobut it, if i'm eatin and everyone else is eating.. why would they think i'm fat? Chances are they aren't even thinking... what is Songul eating? How many calories is that? or even concentrating on how much you ate. They willl most likely be consentrating on their own food, because they themselves are hungry.
Now.. if you are thinking i'm fat... again look at those around you.. you yourself are probably around their size. Do you think they are fat? No... you just see yourself.. try the mirror trick. Look in the mirror.. say three thngs positive about your appearance. Yes this is hard at first, but you will get used to it. However even with these tips, i have not totally overcome my eating disorders and social anxiety disorder. I still slip up. Sometimes i don't d the above, then i really slip... however if anyone has any tips and tricks to get over eating disorders plus social anxiety that would be great to discuss so post below. Those who feel like they are alone, your not alone! I hope this post helped someone :) hope all is well with everyone <3

One thing i did, was i'd get foods, maybe pretty high calorie foods and share it with a friend, this way i'm eating half the amount and seeing someone else eat the same amount... I'm still getting calories and nutrients my body needs but i'm not feeling as guilty about it :)

I feel the same way. I eat probably half of what I normally eat when I'm around people, and I feel less hungry though (it's great over the winter holidays though when I'm with family, instead of all the crap on the table, I end up eating a fourth a pack of Ramen...)
Usually, I'll eat while I'm at home, and so then I'm not even that hungry when I go out. I know that's not really facing Social Anxiety Disorder, but I've never been able to tell myself that everything I'm thinking isn't right. That they're not staring at me and thinking I'm fat... I've tried, I'm just too busy passing out on the floor from my anxiety.
