Authorities confirmed that the shooter that entered the University of Texas at Austin may be dead. Shots were fired at the Perry-Castaneda Library and police are reportedly on the hunt for the second suspect.
A reporter just a few feet from the Perry-Castaneda Library at the University of Texas at Austin was a bit unsettled by the events at the college campus. A shooter allegedly entered the library and opened gun fire. Then the suspect turned the gun on himself and fired. No one else was harmed.
'The shooter is dead on the sixth floor of Perry-Castaneda Library. No identification. Apparently took his own life,' Don Hale, a UT spokesman, confirmed.
Although the situation has been contained, police are urging residents to stay away from the area. The campus has been closed down and will remain so until further notice. There is no confirmation on whether a second suspect participated in the shooting, but police are taking no chances.
