I'm in college trying to get my life on track.

I've lost friends to suicide and am trying to not lose myself to it, also.

I thought joining yet another Forum online may help me get to know people and prehaps get some guidence.

I consider myself a nice person.

Having to deal with friends suicides is a terrible thing, you will be able to find other people here that have been through it too. I hope you never go down that path yourself, if things are bad and you need someone to talk too you can always try me.
