I have the flu, in September. First off, what the hell? Second off, I can't even keep down water. Any ideas on how to keep myself hydrated?

Please, help would be appreciated.

Get an I.V. :P

If you cant keep down water, you shud really go to a hospital or something.

Have you eaten anything that you normally wouldn't? Or something old or out of the ordinary, Sometimes our body might react differently to food that is foreign or an allergy. Trae's suggestion is good, but the best thing to do when you drink anything, try to get gatorade or water or even ginger ale, but DRINK IT SLOWLY, like sip it. As when you drink it normally it fills you up and makes you sick. Also even though they taste really nasty eat some tums. The stomach acid in your belly is reduced and it settles a lot faster. Hope you get better man.

Keep drinking... even if you can't keep it down for long some of it will still absorb.

I'm feeling better. Was able to keep down water, and slept for about 4 hours. Then when I woke up I was feeling good and decided to take some medicine for my fever. I'm feeling like I didn't have the flu right now, but I need to take some more medicine soon.

Thanks for the advice guys. I appreciate it ^_^

Having illnesses in September isn't odd. After a whole summer, you get hundreds of bodies carrying who knows what all into one place (school) and then the diseases start to spread. After a couple weeks, BAM.

We have a cold going around right now. This happens like clockwork every year.

Anyway, something I've found that helps when I have a flu is to keep a pile of crackers with me. The saltine ones, more specifically. Eat a single one when I'm feeling up to it every once in a while, and generally it stays down if it isn't too much.

People always say ginger ale and it really does work, it seems. I dunno what it is about it, or if it's just a placebo effect, but having a cup handy and sipping it always works.

I believe ginger ale gets any gas in your stomach to come up.

Thanks Rex, and Matt. I'll tell my Mom to grab me some ginger ale today and maybe that can get rid of this odd stomach feeling.

Yup, good old Canadian stomach ache tricks always work.
