Should adoption for teen parents be encouraged?

If they don't have the resources to raise the baby in a safe, sound environment, then yes.

No they should be supported so the baby can live with their mother and father.

Both answers are correct and wrong, in MY opinion.
@Jason The parents of that baby need to learn responsibility, it's okay to support them to a certain extent. But they DO need to learn to live with THEIR responsibility and take care of it. Ex: Getting a Job, Paying Rent, Doing Their Own Laundry etc.

@OP No, they shouldn't be forced to give their children away unless their environment is unsafe, the parents are unfit (maturity, financially, psychically).

My feelings are, it takes two to tango. You brought this baby into the world, you should have to take care of the child no matter what your thoughts or feelings are the subject. The baby didn't ask for you (the parents) to be reckless and stupid. If a teen parent can't take care of the baby then parents who can should be able to. Especially people who can't have kids.

This.

If the baby doesn't have a safe environment to live in, and if the parents will struggle to raise them, then yes because it would be in the best interests of the baby.

If they know they can't and will not provide the infant with necessities, such as education, food, shelter, clothing and health care; do not have a suitable environment for safe growth of the child; or emotional and social issues cloud the parents, then I agree.

Of course not. How else would they get a council house and benefits for life. I mean what teen mother would ever want to work! For the US citizens, in the UK they are guaranteed a council house and benefits so they never have to work. Thanks to Blair and Brown!

I said urged not forced. Urged can mean recommended or encouraged.

Being the result of a teen baby myself :P, It really just depends on the situation. If the parents can't cupport the child the way it needs, than it might be best if they did give the child up for adoption. Fortunatly my mom did put me up for adoption:D. But if the parents, have all the proper resources then they should deffanitly keep the baby.:)

They shouldn't be forced to, but it should be encouraged, because many (but not all) teen mothers aren't able to provide for the baby adequately.

if they are able to take care of it, no. only if they aren't able to should they be ENCOURAGED to put it up for adoption. but they should not be forced.
