Now the RSPCA has launched a hunt to catch the cruel culprits.
Animal welfare officer Carl Hone was surprised to find the cat dyed completely pink when he arrived at the scene in Swindon, Wilts.
He said: "When I got the call I thought perhaps it would be a cat with something natural on their coat or which had rubbed against wet paint.
"But this poor creature has been dyed completely pink, except around her eyes and nose, so she looks like she has a white mask on."
The RSPCA cannot rule out the possibility Pink is someone's missing pet and that this was done as a sick prank.
She is currently being boarded at Cheldene Veterinary Centre and Boarding Cattery in Marlborough, Wilts.
Veterinary surgeon Penny Gillespie, who is caring for Pink at the cattery, said Pink was so bright she almost "glows in the dark".
She said: "I have about 600 cats a year passing through my cattery and have not seen such a brightly coloured cat in the nine years I have worked here.
"Pink is so bright she almost glows in the dark.
"When I first saw it my jaw dropped and I thought 'Oh my God!'. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and had to do a double take. It is so bizarre.
"Apparently, the man who found her had just returned from the pub and when he told his wife she replied: 'Don't be so daft, dear. Go to bed and sleep it off.'
"The cat is getting a lot of attention here because everybody wants to take a look at her.
"Surprisingly other cats do not seem to have noticed her unusual hair-do.
"Pink is in good health and is a good weight. She purrs loudly when you stroke her and loves rubbing against your leg.
"She is a lovely cat and I do not understand while somebody would be so cruel as to dye her and throw her over a fence."
