Yea so I'm getting a root canal, I heard it hurts like a motherfucker. Anyone got anything to say bout it etc.

It hurts just as you describe.
Suggestion: Ask the Doc to give you a pain pill PRIOR to starting the procedure, and with novacaine, it should minimize the effect. Ask ALSO, for a script (afterward) of something taken ...like every 4 hours, until the pain subsides.
I've had two...I know.

Yeah, i've had one before. It won't hurt all that much when its happening because they'll use anaesthetic on you. Afterwards however is a different story. Its not going to be pleasant. I suggest no hard foods or fizzy drinks. Drink plenty of milk/milkshakes and juice. Soft foods, maybe mash potato and mushed peas. Soup is one of the major things, and ice cream is great for keeping your energy up and numbing it. Don't talk much for a few days after, any cold air that gets in is going to be painful around the area as well. Although the nerve in that tooth would be gone the area around it is still going to be bruised and painful. Hope this helps!
