View Full Version : Firefox or Chrome?

Firefox and Chrome. Those seem to be the main alternate Web Browser, I recently got my Firefox working again, and happen to love how customizable it is. But I love Chrome's speed and it's browser shape better, so I think I'll be switching back and forth.

My question to you guys is:
Which do you Prefer, Firefox or Chrome?
Also, list your reasons to why.

Chrome it's faster, doesn't take up as much resources, and it doesn't look so bulky.

FF offers a good range of extra applications - from how it looks and how it operates - and these are the only good thing you see around FF, also it is Faster(in browsing-downloading a page takes seconds). FF is RAM and Processor Intensive, and has a large library that can go wrong at any moment. That's the main reason I backed off from it.

GC - We had a good time. GC is indeed ergonomic in design and definitely user-friendly. It is also fast, and takes less RAM out from your PC. If you want applications, you can only have few as this was integrated quite recently, and there are few who are willing to make a large sum of applications for GC users. It is of course faster and less prone to errors, but it is not an Eye candy like FF, or faster in browsing than FF or having a large sum of applications and other stuff.

Do want a personal opinion from me? I say f:censored: them both and get yourself an Opera (http://www.opera.com/) - you have tried it? Then, case closed. Nuff said. :locked:

I use chrome on my desktop and firefox on my laptop - they are the only two browsers I think I can use without pulling my hair out.

I think chrome is just a bit too basic looking though and isn't as customisable as Firefox.

Faris opera is horrible on anything other than a mobile phone just like safari.

Opera? It's slow and plain. I hated it, it may be more safe, but it's boring and slightly useless.

Firefox just ate away at it's resources. So many plug ins. It's speed is the only redeeming thing I've seen from it. I don't care about customization.

I love how Chrome is fast, I like how it's very simple. Tabs in a row, address bar isn't huge, no annoying toolbars. And I like how I'm downloading something and a huge-ass pop-up telling me what I'm downloading and how long it's taking doesn't show up. It just goes to the bottom of the page. I just love Chrome.

I tried Opera once, I believe it was Version 7.0. It was stable, which I liked, it was...alright in terms of speed. But like, no websites that I went to ever supported it until like Version 9. And the Opera Turbo was so useless to me. And I didn't use it all that often either, so I don't know if I could have more than 9 bookmarks, or if there was an Incognito-Like feature that Chrome and Firefox have. But I will always take Opera over IE.

I prefer Chrome since it doesn't take up so much room and the web address bar is the search bar.

I think you mean the Address bar is the search bar.

I like Firefox better, it's faster for me and it has better extensions. Plus you can have toolbars if you want them (not that I do, but still :P).

Chrome is superior. I do like firefox, but its UI isn't as appealing and it's a terrible resource hog. Chrome focuses on the bare basics of web browsing and doesn't divulge into too many addons and toolbars unlike its competitors.

Whoops. :P

I think that Firefox is better if you want a totally customisable browser, there's way more browsing options, filters, bookmarks, favourites etc. It's much slower than Chrome though, perhaps because of the extra features; I use Chrome simply because it's the fastest browser I've ever used. Again, perhaps that's because I've only got like 30 bookmarks or maybe it's just because it's the best. Who Knows... I use Chrome.

I like Firefox better. It's just what I've used forever now.

Chrome, while faster, I don't like how it looks.

Firefox. More security/filtering flexibility, and less memory used on the long run - Chrome quickly becomes a hog when you keep more than a couple tabs at once. I've tried Opera, but I didn't like its interface, and I found its filtering facilities lacking.

Personally I prefer Chrome. It's fast, stable, and there aren't any toolbars taking up the entire screen

I prefer Chrome. It's simpler and is just right for me. I have fewer problems with it compared to IE7, Safari 4 and Firefox 3.whatever.. It's UI is much easier for me too.

Toolbars can be removed, just saying. Chrome is also my favorite.

Well I'm sure most people just want to be able to get a new browser with no strings attached.

Chrome's my favourite. It's pretty fast and by far the best browser I've used. And I got myself an extension on it yesterday to block all ads.

They're both good, but I've always used FF, so yeah.

Chrome...seems to be a bit smoother and faster - on my laptop - and Firefox for me keeps not responding whenever I type in a text box (ex. the title box for a new thread)

the add ons - there aren't as many as FF but where the extensions are it's a lot more organized in my opinion
