I don't understand how we will abuse it. if people abuse it, then give them a warning or something. what's wrong with a spoiler? I find it really useful. this place's the only forum of all the forums I am on that don't even have one. I'm just saying. I know Maverick doesn't agree and I know most likely it won't ever be added...but still. maybe we should give it a try

There's nothing here that really calls for colors, either. Just sayin'- pretty much everything one might add doesn't have a real need.

The effort involved to add spoiler tags is low. The gains would probably be somewhat low too, but they undoubtedly exist so why not? There's no real downside; the possibility of abuse is really a red herring.

It's not as if anyone needs it. Is anyone really going to use it more than a few times? You can just type spoiler out in bold letters and different colours.

I actually like this idea. There are so many things on VT no one uses (Half the smiles for example). People would actually use this.

Why not put the ability to have them here, and in the User CP, have the option to never show spoiler tags, so if people don't want them, they don't need to see them.

I cant see any need for it. If people waffle on at length no one reads it, if they hide it with a spoiler tag no one will read it there either. What does it achieve? Write to the point, concisely, and forget the gimmics.

I'm not familiar with vBulletin, so I don't know if it's technically feasible. I would use the tags.

This would be good in video games/tech, book reviews, picture threads (to hide pics and increase page rendering time). I also think it would work well in my diary.

With different skin colors, using a different color doesn't really work.

For whatever reason, Ant has said no. Therefore it's not likely to happen so people should just stop going on about it.
