The Mayans. An ancient civilization that is said to have been so accurate, that their calender predicted the first two world wars and their own destriction.

Unforutnately for us, the Calender ends on December 22, 2012...supposedly the end of the world. This is recent updates however. The Mayan Calender is based off of astrology, or the position of the stars and the sun. Now, when their calender predicts the first two world wars and their own destruction, whos to say that we are all going to be slowly eliminated on December 22, 2012.

The end of the world, based on the Mayan Calender sais that the sun will cross into the very center of the milky way cuasing the spirit world and the human world to combine.

"Woe to you, Oh earth and sea, for the devil sends the beast of wrath, because he knows the time is short..." - Book of Revelations

When the spirit world and the human world combine, a cold freezing winter will come...and anger and chaos will errupt...hence the beast of wrath. Ok so maybe the Mayan Calender and the book of revelations do have something in comming (except the whole 666 thing).

"Behold the Lord's day, a day of fury and wrath, which will reduce the world to solitude." - Book of Revelations.

Another similarity. At the end of the book of revelations, The devil is cast into a sea of fire and peace is restored for over one thousand years. Apparently, the same thing happens with the Mayan Calender....all of the spirits that have caused chaos are cast into a sea of fire and resotring peace for the human race, causing the entire world to start over.

The Revelations prophecy sais the same, after all of the chaos and hell, the devil is cast into a sea of fire for a thousand years leaving us in peace and solitude.

THE SIMILARITIES BETWEEN THE BOOK OF REVELATIONS AND THE MAYAN CALENDER.

1) The spirits being cast into the sea of fire for over a thousand years and the devil being cast into a sea of fire for over a thousand years.

2) On December 22, 2012, spirits are released into the human world causing chaos. The devil is unleashed into the world on some day (not 666 considering its already past) releasing havoc.

3) After each prophecy, it ends in peace, and it will happen again, in another couple of thousands of years. The only difference is revelations sais that Armmagedon (the battle for Isreal) is repetetive. The mayan calender ends in 2012. The reason its repetetive is because during each generation of human races, we eventually go to far and break a covenant with God, and revelations starts, starting the whole cycle over again.
The steps of that is:
1) The covenant is made
2) Sin is started
3) Revelations stars
4) Armegeddon which decides everything about the next generation.
5) Repeats.

The mayan calender sais that after 2012, the world is set into hell until finally the Gods throw the spirits into a sea of fire and there is peace for ever. It doesn't repeat.

So does the Mayan Calender really predict our doom? And did the mayans predict the whole book of revelations before John even wrote it in the bible?

Who knows.

(Pretty creepy, huh?)

Well, it makes sense to me. And kudos to you for going through the info. There's also a Catholic prophecy that has been right to date, and says that we're on our second-to-last Pope before the end days. Add that in. Anyway, guess we'll just have to wait and see. Personally, I was hoping to see how far gaming could go in my lifetime, but the end of all things doesn't brake for anyone

Anyway, we're also not supposed to be able to predict the end of all things (according to Daniel or Revelation, sorry, forgot), but then, if we kept saying the world was going to end tomorrow, we'd eventually be right, so a NO predictability scenario can be ruled out anyway. Unless by guessing it will be tomorrow will actually put it off . . . Watch us all forget to guess it will be tomorrow on December 21, 2012 >_<

Anyway, kinda happy it'll be in our lifetime if it turns out to be the case, but by the same token, would like to be older age when it happens.

ANYWAY, the most accepted theory on this Mayan callender thing is that they saw no need to make any dates beyond that. It really was just what it sounds like, A CALLENDER. Even we don't make callenders with more than 3 years on them. The Mayans probably just said, "Hey, you wanna relist the cycle of things again?" and the other guy said, "Yeah, uhhhhmmmmm, 4000 lunar years on this thing already, so . . . no." (Not sure if that's the actual number of years on it, but I'm saying it to make a point, not be historically accurate).

Well, most, if not all of us will get the chance to see if they were right or not, eh? I reserve the right to post on this topic later! :D

Im pretty sure that if u looked hard enough, there are major serious prophesies (like the ones described) for most past generations, but now we even have 6+ billion ppl to make them, and to belive them.

Prophesies of the end times aren't anything new.

Nah, I don't think that will happen... no one can see the future now, why would they see it?? I know they were pretty smart and stuff, but....

anyways, I don't think it will happen... and if it does, well, I guess I don't have to study.. 6 more years to go... I'll barely finish highschool, and will have one year of university, our of like 6... that makes no sence... I SHOULD ENJOY LIFE!!!

I read to the part of astrology sorry kind of in a hurry but

As I know all the old American civilizations predicted astrology by the Milkyway

As some of you may know a theory of why the Incans didnt resist the invasion of foreing nations and just let themselves be slaughterd.. Well the theory is that as the Milkyway got 'clouded' un seeable from the earth the Incans thought it was their doom so they didnt put up a fight..

Basicly I think this is the same by theory and the prophecy

Um Bullshit. The world was suppost to end MANY time before now. The bible said Jesus would come back very soon after he died like a couple years, then the world would end.

If prophesis were usualy true, then the world should have ended at least 10 times by now

Maybe it has ended 10 times . . . ? You all realize that if the universe were put together, with every atom in the place it is now, every subatomic particle, that even our memory would have been manufactured? The universe could have come into existence 10 seconds ago, exactly as it is now, and we wouldn't be any the wiser.

Anyway, you've got THREE major things lining up for the near future, it may not make it true, but in the past, not many other ends have been predicted on different fronts to be around the same time. Here, we have multiple things lining up. It's still not likely, but don't count it out, you won't know until it happens. I'm just gonna wait, not even gonna anticipate it. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, more of the same, oh joy.

And aside from that, whoever was making the comment about Christ returning soon, there's a verse in the Bible saying that it will be soon in God's time. There's another verse, which is unlikely literal, just getting a point across, that says one of God's days is likened to 10,000 of our years. I'd get you the books and verse numbers, but I doubt many of you would look it up. But if you want them, PM me.
