Sounds like you have some PTSD or "post traumatic stress disorder."
Often victims of trauma, especially childhood abuse, suffer from flashbacks as teens or adults. The best thing you can do in a situation like that is to calm down your body and mind from a potential panic attack. I can recommend some great breathing exercises you can do right then and there on the spot to help you lower your heart rate and tolerate the situation. As for the flashbacks, there's really no quick fix. I suggest counseling or some form of therapy to discuss those times of abuse, so you can better understand them and prevent them from crippling you in the present. hindsight is a gift - when we can explore past trauma in the safety of the present, we can understand it's true colors and thus break its hold over us. If you're calm enough, try meditating on those past experiences - what does it feel like? smell like, taste like? Recognize these phenomena as separate qualities which in and of themselves aren't inherently scary. Deconstruct the scenarios with your rational mind and you will lose your fear.
If I can help in anyway please feel free to PM me.
