There's a reason why your balls "get small", or tighten up close to your body when it's cold.

See now, your balls (your testicles) are held in a sac called a scrotum.

Now, you know your balls produce sperm. Your body wants to keep your testicles all safe, because that's how you continue your genes.

But the thing is, sperm can only develop in a certain temperature. Yeah, your balls have to be a certain temperature in order to produce sperm.

So, to make sure your balls can produce sperm, your scrotum has a muscle in it that contracts the scrotum to the body when it's cold. That keeps it warm.
On the flip side, your ballsac hangs when it's warm, so they'll cool off; to keep it the right temperature, also.

So that is why your balls get "smaller" when it's cold. It's to protect them and make sure they function properly.
