If you don't know, the "big four" thrash bands are Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax. People always argue over who's more talented or better in general, and I want to know what the metal fans of VT think.

My rankings:

1. Metallica
1. Slayer
3. Megadeth
4. Anthrax

I like slayer just as much as metallica, they're a good alternative when I get bored with my metallica playlist.

Megadeth is the only band on there I would ever listen to; Slayer is a joke, as with Anthrax, and I bet you know my stance on Metallica by now. :P

I like Megadeth.

I like Megadeth the most I think. Slayer's good. Haven't heard much of Anthrax. But Metallica, I can't stand them. They're overrated. I don't see what's so special about them.

80s Metallica is best Metallica. The first four albums are all masterpieces, ESPECIALLY ...And Justice For All, my favorite album of all time.

After 1991 there's only a handful of good songs.

I like Megadeth too... but Slayer a joke?!

Slayer is an earsore; hate to break it to you.

That's what most non-metal fans would say about thrash in general.

Sure, they may be loud, but that's a redeeming quality in my opinion.

I like metal, but I'm not some person who only likes crappy 80s metal. Excuse me not liking sucky vocals with slackass guitarmanship.

I didn't call you a non-metal fan, hahaha

I like 80s metal, the vocals specifically, but that's just my preference.

But the thing is, you like bands with crappy vocalists. I'm not trying to be a jackass, but it's the truth.

Metallica, is the only band on this list, that is passable. The rest, make me want to die. Honestly, the sound of their guitars sound like when I miss a note on mine.

Metal fan elitism, gotta love it.

1. Megadeth
2. Metallica
3. Slayer
4. Anthrax

Megadeth is the only number one band out of the four. Metallica, though good, does not come close.

I just find Megadeth harder to enjoy than Metallica or Slayer. They have good songs, but they're harder to come by.

Where the fuck was I for this thread?!
I don't care if you lock it for my bump!!!
1. Megadeth
2. Metallica
3. Slayer
4. Anthrax

I literally have every single album done by Megadeth, they are far superior to even Metallica, Dave Mustaine set out to be a more successful band than Metallica, I would say he did a good job.

To me, Metallica is the most mainstream metal band there are, sure there songs can be very talented, but if you ask anyone they are guaranteed to have heard of Metallica.

Slayer are verging on Death metal, but still very good, and Anthrax have like three songs that you can listen to without being bored.

I've never really bothered to listen to Anthrax or Slayer except for live performances.

I like The Big 4 and all, but their singers (Mustaine and Hetfield in particular) have started sounding horrible live.
