Hi all,
I went to see my counsellor on Thursday, I see her each week and she suggested voluntary hospitalization because she thinks it is out of control. I am really scared and I dont 100% understand why she wants me to go, my cutting isn't really that deep. I have been depressed and and very low in mood lately but I really dont wanna go to hospital.
What do I do?

She's probably just being cautious, before it gets to the point where you're in hospital because it is that bad.
Nobody can tell you what to do, only you know whats right for you,
and only you can judge how bad you are.
Ask her next week why she thinks you should be in hospital, see if she can help explain.

It seems like she's suggested it because she's worried it could get get a lot worse. Even if you don't think you're that bad now, maybe she thinks you should just in case it does get worse.
She might be your councellor, but only you really know whether or not it will help. If you think you need a little bit of extra help, then maybe you should consider it.
Also, just because your cutting isn't deep doesn't mean your self harm isn't bad. Any form of self harm suggests that help is needed, and don't forget that even if it's not intentional, you could accidently slip and cut too deep one day. No one can measure how bad someone's self harm is my their injury.
Talk to your concellor a little bit more about it, and then think about it and come to a decision on what is best for you. You might not want to go, but if you decide it's the best thing for you, then maybe you should. If not, then don't. It's entirely up to you.
