To those that are in the closet at least partially: any homophobic friends

Do you have any homophobic friends? If so why are you friends with them? If not would you want to be friends with them? When you realized you were gay did you stop hanging out with people who seemed homophobic?

I couldn't say really. It's really hard to define other people. Especially people you consider your friends.

my closet is lacking a door, people just tend to ignore the obvious... Ignorance=bliss?

i'm picky about friends, i can only think of 1 or 2 people who could be consitered homophobic, and they don't direct it AT individuals.
why am i friends with them? cause otherwise their nice people?

None of my friends are homophobic; the only one remotely against it is a Muslim so I understand his position.

If anyone showed hostility towards it, I definitely wouldn't be their friend.

I honestly don't know who would be okay with it. I think for some, it would be "too real" for them, or things would somehow get awkward because they know more about me...if that makes sense. But really, I can't think of anyone who would necessarily reject me, but I know there would be at least a few.

My best friend is homophobic... like, im sure she doesnt mean it because she doesnt know anyone gay. She uses gay as an insult and when she sees gays at discos or anything she's like 'aaaaw ew!' but if i told her I was gay im sure she'd have no problem with it. because she understands its not a choice. I'm sure its just because she doesnt know any gays :D but it does make it awkward when she says ew or something... because I'm confused about my sexuality and I always think 'oh god I cant believe i may have to come out to you someday...'

Well I'm bi and most of my friends are from really religious families and I'm not sure how they'd take it. One of my religious friends would be okay with it. He's my best friend and he wouldn't care he's accepting of everybody, I'm just not ready to come out yet..
