If descendants of slaves deserved reparations

For this debate assume that descendants deserve reparation Who should pay them? the U.S. Government? Companies that had connections to slavery? Countries that had colonies in the Americas? African countries/tribes that sold their own people to Europeans? What form should they take? Money? Housing? Insurance? Educational Opportunities? Should such reparations come from tax dollars? Where should they come from?

This debate is not about whether blacks deserve reparations or not.

i guess that they would be given land because nobody has enough money to pay back every slaves decendents and seeing as there were a lot of slaves in history such as in ancient rome and greece and probably places before that it would be kinda hard to pay them wouldnt it the whole world would be even more screwed up but if we are going to pay every person who had an ancestor that was a slave they would all get very little because it would have to be split up evenly ord that wouldnt be fair. and since i enjoy guessing games im going to guess that almost everybody had an ancestor that was a slave it would end up being pointless to give reparations but well do it anyway because your premis is that they do deserve the reparations

I'm not saying that there shouldn't be reparations but there is nobody to pay. With anything really, unless there is unowned land that can be 'given' to them, there's nothing else. It shouldn't rest on the government or anyone else to give anything.
