If you don't know already, Civilization V comes out in a week (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilization_V), with a ton of new features and updated graphics — the most important being six-sided hexagon tiles instead of the old square ones. Needless to say, it will be epic, especially so because Thailand is now a pre-included civilization :D
I know a lot of VTers like the Civ series. Are you gonna pick it up? I sure will, when I get the money.

Of course. Maybe next year because my computer needs more memory. My computer sucks a lot of ass regarding specs. Hell, it couldn't even run CivIV beyond medium quality.
Note: Khmer was included in Civ IV warlords, which had Thailand as a part of their territory at that time.

Blame my mom for her overly cheap views on choosing a good PC.

A decent pre-built computer that could run Civ IV on high wouldn't cost that much nowadays.

Yes, but mine often experiences slowdowns at the height of the Industrial Age and beyond. I need to set it up on Medium so I could go faster.

I was nver a big fan of Civ, ut I played it for a while.
Becausr the game didn't had ANY sense.
It says one turn is 60 years,
it takes several turns to build a barracks, say 3
Does it take 60X3=180 years to build a single barracks?
What about world wonders? For exampel I remember it once said you had to wait for some 300 turns to build Babylon Gardens, 300X3....

Actually, it meant you lack production numbers if one thing takes too long to finish, and certain wonders can be hastened through the use of resources.

It looks like the critics are orgasming over this game. Gives me an additional reason to pick it up on my birthday in a week.
I'll tell you all what I think of it when the time comes :D
