Hi. I was just wondering if anybody would care to share some advice (or a link to a helpful site?) on how to "bulk up." I am 15 years old and I am far too scrawny. I have been trying to work out, so I have a LITTLE muscle mass to me. The only exercise equipment I have at my disposal would be two 5 pound dumbbells... Not a lot... Help would be great.

Just look for some stuff on google, you can also do pushups and situps you do not need weights for those.

Add a little extra protein to your diet. Protein shakes and fish are great examples of it. Sit ups will help with abs and weights like dumbbells will help with your biceps. Keep a healthy diet, not too much fatty stuff, but you need a little for energy.

Swimming gives you an all body workout. I got bored with gym exercises so for a change i started swimming more and right away i can feel my biceps and stomach are a lot more tight than after my usual workout. I was told too much weights isn't a good idea when you are young as it can slow your growth as in make you shorter. I think variety is good so dont get stuck on the dumbells alone or you just end up with huge guns and skinny legs like some guys, so like whats the point they can't actuallly do any more with their big arms cos their backs would snap cos they haven't worked their whole body.

don't forget your shoulders, these guys have given you most of the basics but don't forget about your deltoids to add a little more depth to your upper body. Take your dumbells (5 pounds should be enough to start you off) and lift both in each hand as if you where a bird flapping your wings type motion rather slowly, do at least eight of these in 3 reps.
