Ok I'm go tell u guys a little history on fps games. If any one what's to add on ad a link or prove me wrong post it. In about 1990 somthimg I think I'm not to sure on the time period some one can ad that in if they want there was no first person shooters on xbox. People thought good games ce from japan and fps's were for comuters. Most of the games were third person adventure games. That is whe halo came out and lauched the start of the first person war games. If any one wants to ad or change what I said go ahead

Good god. Don't even know where to begin, really, except by telling you that you clearly have absolutely no conception of gaming history.

Halo technically isn't the first shooter for Xbox, I believe there were a couple before it. However, it is the greatest exclusive for it, and revamped the Xbox to compete with it's competition.

Study a bit more on your gaming history.

Duke nukem, FPS. Counter Strike 1.6, FPS. Half-Life, FPS. Goldeneye 007 N64, FPS. All four of these games, weren't the first 4 but t h ey revolutionized the idea. They are all on a whole different page than halo, halo isn't in the same library as these games. I cannot even begin to tell you how wrong you are. So I'm going to start slapping you

That'll be Doom (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doom_(video_game)), some other games, Duke Nukem (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duke_Nukem_3D), Quake (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quake_(video_game)), some other games, Golden Eye (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GoldenEye_007), then some other games, then Half-Life.

Halo, COD and other games came when we had the technology to make better and faster 3D accelerated graphic processors.

Counter Strike was actually a Mod for Half Life, just like Team Fortress I, Death Match, Opposing Force and etc.

Why Troll V.Game geeks, Mourfus? You know you will be "pnwed"?

I thought your username is Morpheus for a second

New rule: Anyone whose first videogame console was anything more advanced than a Playstation, N64, or Dreamcast can't talk about videogame history.

I'm from the old-school. The very first FPS was Maze War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maze_War) in 1974, but it wasn't until Wolfenstein 3D (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfenstein_3D) in 1992 that the FPS genre was really established. Halo might be a notable FPS but it's done more to support the console it was released on than the FPS genre as a whole. What I'm saying is that bringing up Halo would be more relevant in a discussion on consoles, not genres.

Argh. Got "pnwd". I actually did came into Maze War back then, I thought it is some other silly Arcade game, and not FP-Shooter. Wolfenstein how come I forget this game! *Slaps self*

To redeem my previous post - Zaxxon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaxxon) is the first Isometric game.

I don't no alot about gaming

It's not difficult to research things beforehand on the internet. Just hit up google or wikipedia, check the sources on anything you find to make sure it's credible, and there ya go.

That fucking annoying dog. But man, memories.

Ah, and you forget that game where you shoot inanimate practice target that looked like terrorists or something, you will lose life(points, don't remember) if you shoot civilians.

I used to play them with my father on an NES-Sinclair clone.

As I was reading this, I turned around and the first thing I noticed was my old SNES console, still with super mario world in it, both controllers neatly wrapped up and waiting for the next person to play it, oh god the memories, Im gonna go play me some mario

Magnavox Shooting Gallery. More epic than cheap plastic toys. :D

I think the first "first person shooter" was the first man in history who ejaculated onto his girlfriend.

Headshot!
