im back to hurting myself again and.. i thought i'd stopped. Its not okay and im not gonna say i cant stop.. its just that i'm scared of whats going to happen when i do? My self harm makes me feel safe and like i can do something about a problem. Im in control of it and i can start and stop the pain. and yet i want to stop for my mum... why do i do this? urgh

I know exactly how you feel. I thought i had stopped too, the cravings went for a while. The best thing you can do is try to find another way to cope. I know this seems impossible but millions of people survive without cutting so there must be a way :)

The sam happened to me the other week, I'd made it months, but I've started again now, so I know how your feeling.
As Kathy said, try and find another way of coping with your problems, but as I am in the same boat as you I dont really know what to suggest

You do it because you feel like it's the only way to relieve the pain and the stress that goes on inside you, but I can assure you it's not the only way. There are so many things you could be doing to make you feel better that don't involve hurting yourself.
Have you tried the rubber band trick? That sometimes works, or writting down how you feel? Sometimes writting it all down can help you understand it a little more, which can make you feel better. Happy music helps as well. Just put your earphones in, put on a happy song and blast it full volume. For some reason that helps.
Can I just ask? Was it you that told your nan about your self harm? If it was maybe talking to her again would help.
I know what it feels like to go through this, so you can PM me anytime, I'll always reply

Maybe try something else, snapping a rubberband against your wrist. I used to do that, it worked for a while, and I ended up stoping. If you want to stop for her, maybe show her, and tell her your want to stop. She could work someting with you, and if you're open to it, maybe go to counciling with you.
