Well, if what you're meaning to say is getting rid of this beast (self-harm, I'm guessing?), and you're someone who does it to rid yourself of the numb feeling, maybe a alternative coping mechanism would help?
My favorites would be:
-Squeezing an ice cube in your hand (done hard enough, it hurts...)
-Snapping a rubber band to your wrist (again, it hurts, and I've had the marks stay for a day or two)
-And, taking a tube of red puffy paint (or red food coloring) and applying it to your skin. If I'm in the right lighting, I can trick myself into thinking it's real blood and I get the same feeling.
Like every addiction, it takes time and commitment. Self-harm is just as potent as drug abuse, but we don't have a rehab facility where we can go and get the poison sucked from our systems (well, we have hospitals, but they're much less helpful in my opinion).
Best wishes.

As the above posters said really, like any addiction, cutting takes time and commitment to break, if your determined you can do it.
Try some of the alternative methods, I found the elastic band one works quite well
Good luck
