I've just started my A-Levels and chosen Maths, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I used to think i wanted to be a Zoologist, but now I'm purely studying these areas, I'm not too sure thats where i want to go in life.

I was just wondering if anyone knows any jobs i could have a look at, since peoples opinions are always better than googles. I love working with animals, but im also sorta into astronomy, im really really good with computers and techonology. But i really want to travel nd go on expeditions in the amazon and arctic and watnot. And one of my dreams is to drive across africa. Any help would be greatly appreciated, ive been wondering what to do with my life for ages.

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, or indeed the wrong site.

While I agree that statistical data about growth fields doesnt necessarily apply to individuals, how many people go into a field and how many want to DOES, I think.

> I love working with animals
So does most of the rest of the world, particularly when young. The world has demonstrated that it is not about to put any real effort into helping animals.

> also sorta into astronomy
Its fascinating to read about, but the small amount of work is mostly done by computers.

> But i really want to travel and go on expeditions in the amazon and arctic.
Now THAT is something that most people cant say. Its not being taken over by technology, though its becoming more dependent on tech tools. It cant be outsourced. It may not sound like a formal field of study, but it might be how you want to perform whatever skills you acquire.

Firstly, your chosen A-Level subject don't have to dictate to what you want to do when you're older. I'm currently taking Sports, Counselling and Archaeology for my A-Levels but i'm going to be studying veterinary medicine when i get to university next year hopefully. Secondly, you've chosen some well thought out subjects that can take you to a lot of places if you think about it. Just look carefully when you come to choosing a university, having 4 decently graded A levels can get you into some good courses. Most Uni's don't care what your A level subjects are, its just the grades they're interested in. Mind you, i said most not all. Some are quite choosy but when its fine im sure you'll find a way around that :)

If you want to talk to someone with a similar career choice in mind you can pm me whenever you feel like it

I would think since you want to go the Amazon, etc. which are heavily diverse with life you should be a zoologist since it's the study of animals, lol.
