What do you see the glass as?

It's half full if you are in the process of filling it.

It's half empty if you are in the process of emptying it.

That is my opinion.

Neither. The glass is twice the size it needs to be.

It depends if you drank half of it or only filled it up to the half mark.

It's a glass and there's water in it.

I say half-full, but not because of some underlying optimistic rationality.

To me, it just makes more sense to say "half-full". In a theater that holds 100 people, 70 of the seats are occupied. If your friend asks how full is it, are you going to reply "30 are empty"?

If the glass was in the process of being filled or emptied, then I would say "half-full" or "half-empty" respectively. But in general I automatically say half-full.

I see it as half empty. I'm not a pessimist all the time, but generally I'm more of one than an optimist. I don't really know why, it's just how I am. I don't see the point in running around acting happy all the time when there's bad things that happen constantly. /:

I see it as half empty 80% of the time.

The glass does not exist. The content of the glass does not exist. Thus, it is neither half empty nor half full.

Bundle theory pemd.

Similes does not exist... um... that goes for Metaphors, too.

Shame on you. :judge:

You too for thinking that the glass is null. :judge:

That glass of water is for all and should be equally divided no matter how full or empty it is.

Too bad there's not enough water for everybody, but I digress, there's already a communism thread floating about.

In real life, I'm pretty pessimistic in general. However, online I take a more optimistic outlook.

The glass is as full or as empty as i make it. Everything is situational, but reaction to every particular situaion is up to me.

Half full, because... Well here is an example.
The volume of a glass is say, 100 ml, you fill 200 ml of it.
You say 200 ml of the glass is full, not 800 ml is empty
