In the last week or so, there has been an increased amount of insults and aggression to fellow debaters. I ask you today, is this the way that VT debating should be carried out? Shouldnt we find non-aggressive solutions to these arguments, and seek polite rebuttals to the arguments made? I would like to ask everyone to stop, and consider your opponents opinions, situations, perspectives, and, above all, feelings before you make a response. We will all be able to judge how intellegent or right we think you are by your posts. Not only is this a cry to stop the madness, but I would also like to know your opinions on how debating here should be carried out. thank you.

If someone gets offended by a few words on a screen from someone they don't even know then they shouldn't bother with human contact at all.
Nothing wrong with livening up things a bit.

i agree with the part that debates should kinda be a little more soft, and with less flaming, but flaming does get inside of the part of debate... so just deal with it..

If you look at the debate forum ingeneral you'll notice its a dog eat dog forum, why? Because its supposed to be! You go there to voice and defend your opinions, it natually gets a lil heated. That's what makes it entertaining, what if we were to apply the same flower power philosophy to sports? Do you really think it would be interesting if hocky players camly skated along, politley asked the oponient to move and then procedded to score? Do you think anyone would care? No, why? Because its boring!! Mine as well make senior shuffelboarding an olympic sport.

I'll tell ya what, don't be a little shitass about something and stand up for your ideas with facts and answers and you can do whatever. I don't even like to debate with you guys anymore, you don't know how to do it, it gets sad, and I end up getting stoned and falling asleep in bordem. You get overly offended and way to into things. You take things to heart, and you gett all emotional and puss out. You think people care, because you care yourself but you gotta remember, were all totally different people in person and were sitting in some shitty spot talking shit!
